The Black Stone History
The history of Kaaba goes back to the time even before the rise of Islam. There is a lot of ambiguity regarding the early history of Kaaba Stone. The Kaaba stone dates to the time of Adam and Eve. The stone was given to Adam on his advent from heaven to seek forgiveness for his sins.
According to the holy Quran, the holy Kaaba was first constructed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and his son Ismail. The main objective was to provide humankind with a house of worship. As stated in old Islamic traditions, the black stone was brought to Ibrahim by Angel Jibreel during the construction of the Kaaba. He then placed it in the Kaaba’s eastern corner. The black stone is also one of the original structures of the Kaaba. The rest of the structure was demolished and reconstructed many times over the history of Kaaba.
According to an account, it is known that Ibrahim AS was building the house of God, the Holy Kaaba, for worship. The stones to complete the wall went short. It is then the Prophet Ibrahim sent his son Prophet Ismail AS, to look for an appropriate stone to fit in the gap to complete the Holy wall of Kaaba. When he could not find anything, he noticed a shiny white color stone was already placed in that space. Ibrahim AS informed that this stone was delivered to him by Angel Jibreel. Originally the stone was a single piece, but over time due to various historical events, it has been broken into eight varied sizes and attached to a larger stone in a silver frame.
Muslims across the world come to Makkah not only to witness the stone but also to kiss it. This is not only worshiped. by the Muslims. But also considered as a metaphorical house of God, that is the reason that they circle it. The black stone also symbolized the unity of all Muslims.
